Test of “Panasonic” and “Sony” CR2032 batteries with Aliexpress

At the request of readers, I ordered on Ali and tested the Panasonic and Sony CR2032 batteries. I write the names of the brands in quotation marks because they are fakes.

In the spring I did a test of CR2032 lithium batteries (https://habr.com/ru/company/lamptest/blog/555158/). Batteries from unknown Chinese brands bought on Aliexpress turned out to be significantly worse than all the others. Several people then wrote that they buy Sony and Panasonic batteries on Ali, and they seem to be quite good.

I ordered two variants of Panasonic batteries and one Sony. I specially selected those lots with the most orders.

1. “10 pcs. original Panasonic cr2032 “122.54 rubles. (12.25 rubles per battery).

2. “Promotion PANASONIC 2020, 10 pcs., 3v CR2032” 220.01 rubles. (22 rubles per battery).

3. “Button batteries 3v SONY cr2032, 15 pcs / lot, original” 184.89 rubles. (12.33 rubles per battery).

Big brands are very attentive to their logos and will never allow the logo on the packaging of their products to differ from the official one. On the packages of all three types of batteries from Aliexpress, the logos are different. This is best seen with the “C” for Panasonic and the “O” for Sony.

The logos on the packaging indicate that these are fakes. All batteries are labeled as made in Indonesia. Panasonic’s lithium battery factory is indeed located in this country, but Sony, as far as I know, does not produce CR2032 batteries at all.

The pictures in both Panasonic lots show packages with hieroglyphs. In fact, batteries came from the first seller, on which all the inscriptions are in English, from the second with hieroglyphs. The reverse side of the packages.

The dates are 12-2030, 2027-12 and just 2030.

As in the spring, I tested the batteries in the discharge mode with a resistive load of 1 kOhm to 2.0 V (during the discharge, the current varied from 3 to 2 mA).

Tested with a Chemical Power Source Analyzer Yarostanmash ASK2.5.10.8

Results.

I will compare these batteries in terms of energy output in milliwatt-hours with batteries tested in the spring, as well as with other CR2032 batteries tested during this time.

The results of fake Panasonic are not bad and they are much better than the results of batteries of unknown Chinese brands bought on Aliexpress. But I see no reason to buy these batteries on Ali.

In order to complete the tests of this type of batteries, I plan to buy the five cheapest CR2032 from Wilberries and Ozone, test them and make a final summary test.
