new access control technologies in schools

Today we will talk about how new technologies can ensure the safety of students, simplify the educational process and organize parental control.

Our company has been developing access control systems for more than 35 years. 12 years ago, based on numerous requests from our users, we decided to create a specialized system for schools. Why is it needed and what are the features of such a system?

Features of ACS for schools

The first feature is an interface specially adapted for schools. For example, the software immediately identifies such groups as “Students”, “Teachers”, “Relatives”.

The “Parental Control” function allows you to inform parents that their child came to school and when he left it.

Parents will learn not only about this – integration of the system with the “Electronic Diary” or similar resources allows them to view both grades and attendance data.

You can control not only children, but also adults – the access control system also has the ability to track the working hours of teachers and school staff.

Everything here is arranged in the same way as in a standard access control system. Different work schedules are available – weekly and shifts, for example, for staff and security, respectively, a schedule based on presence – for example, for additional education teachers. The system allows you to generate both a report card in the T-13 form and a special report card for educational institutions in the 0504421 form.

To protect against unauthorized access, turnstiles are installed. Biometric data, access cards, barcodes, and smartphones with NFC can be used as identifiers. It is possible to create an individual design for access cards.

Access to the school premises is allowed only to students, and not to their parents – this increases the level of security and prevents the entry of strangers.

The most popular type of turnstiles for schools now are high-speed passages. For the safe passage of children, special firmware is provided.

The verification mode allows you to make sure that the pass is not being used by an attacker. The student presents the ID – the guard on the monitor sees an image of the person to whom the pass was issued. If the faces match, passage will be allowed.

The access control system will not allow students to enter the teacher's room or medical office – the system allows you to differentiate access rights and keep the doors of selected rooms closed. In emergency situations, turnstiles and locks open upon command from the system.

Integration with video surveillance and fire alarm systems allows you to continuously monitor the school territory and instantly inform security of any problems.

Innovation? To every school!

PERCo systems have been successfully ensuring the safety of students in more than 3,000 schools in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan for more than 10 years.

We are now preparing to release an updated version of the system, already using web technologies. To make the transition to the new system easier, a database converter is provided.

We asked our clients what functionality they were missing, and now we are working on the project based on the requests received. Let's look at them in more detail.

– Schedule

One of the popular user requests we have implemented is a full-fledged lesson schedule functionality. Now a schedule can be created both for each class for the reporting period, and for groups within the class. It will be possible to set a list of items and a call schedule. Each lesson can be assigned its own color for quick search. Schedules for even and odd weeks may vary. Also, after creating a schedule in the system, you can search by class, office, subject or teacher, view and print the schedule of the selected school employee for the current and next week. A convenient function is to reschedule a lesson to another time or to another room, as well as cancel a lesson.

– Expanded list of departments

The updated system will have a predefined list of departments available, maximally adapted to the needs of schools. For example, the list will include such units as “Academic work”, “Psychological service”, “School library” and many others.

– Report on missed lessons

Parents of students will now know not only whether their child is skipping school or not, but also what lessons and how often he misses.

– Linux

If the previous version of the system only worked under Windows OS, the updated access control system will also work under Linux, which is very important in the current conditions.

– Telegram

The system allows you to send various notifications to parents, relatives and students via the Telegram messenger. This could be notifications about arrival at school, or about changes in the schedule, for example. Unlike SMS notifications, this is free.

– API

Due to the support of the API interface, the system easily integrates with third-party applications, for example, various online services. It's comfortable and modern.

– Cross-platform

You can work in the system on any device – from a PC to a smartphone. Just open your favorite browser.

– Full unlimited

The system will process data from an unlimited number of students, parents, staff and teachers.

– Free mobile applications

The PERCo.Access application allows you to use your smartphone as a pass. Unlike contactless cards, a smartphone is more difficult to lose or forget.

PERCo. Registration can be used to keep track of schoolchildren on field trips.

– Distributed server system

In educational institutions consisting of several buildings, it is possible to build a distributed access control system to increase fault tolerance and reduce the load on the server.

– Ease of use

The system interface allows you to implement personal settings for different operators. The ability to set different colors for each lesson has been implemented. Individual registration allows you to quickly identify a lost pass.

– English interface

– Two months trial period

At the request of workers, the trial period when working with the Shkola software will be increased from 30 days to 60.
