How to respond to an IT job correctly?

Interest the employer

I will not reveal any secret, since the surest way to interest the employer is a cover letter.

Another question is how it should be composed. If we talk about the IT industry, then another trend is more often observed here, recruiters usually write to developers, and here it is probably more correct to ask how to interest a candidate.

Of course, we also receive feedback from developers, and a cover letter will help the recruiter if you tell us about your experience, what technology stack you used on a particular project, what result you got, who you worked with.

This will make it possible to understand whether we are suitable for each other in terms of the technology stack, the work experience was freelancing or a project or a company, this is important, since there are different goals, well, the presence of a team – you worked alone or in a team who made decisions, how communications were built – this will reduce the presence of primary questions in the interview, we can move on to a technical interview.

Is it appropriate to attach your projects without being asked?

As I described above, yes – it is appropriate, because without them it will be difficult to understand what kind of experience you had. Thus, you show the project you worked on, your role in this project, what tasks you solved. You can understand whether you will cope with the tasks that will be in front of you.

How to respond to an IT vacancy and not scare away?

I communicate with everyone who responded – even if the candidate’s experience is not suitable, I will definitely explain the reason.

I stop communicating only if the candidate suddenly begins to communicate rudely, or immediately makes claims that for some reason we did not answer him right away, or did not invite him for an interview.

But, fortunately, as far as the IT sphere is concerned, as a rule, there are mostly educated candidates who know their own worth. It happens that the candidate himself disappears – there are just a lot of such people in our field, but this does not scare us either. We are not shy, if we need a candidate, we will look for all kinds of ways of communication.
