Obtainium – aggregator of apk downloads from different sources

Android offers a wide selection of third-party repositories and application stores in addition to the Play Store: F-Droid (opensource), Aptoide, APKMirror and vendor branded stores. However, developers often publish applications only on their own websites or GitHub. This requires you to download and monitor APK file updates yourself, which is too inconvenient. To simplify the process you can use Obtainium – an application for adding non-standard sources, other stores and receiving notifications about new versions of programs.

Obtanium supports sources from:

  • Open source:

  • Third party stores:

  • Open source (some applications):

  • Other applications:

    • whatsapp

    • Telegram

    • Neutron Code

  • HTML is any link that returns an APK file.

How to use it

By default, obtanium does not scan installed applications and does not suggest the source of their installation – all this must be configured by the user, in this regard it is very different from other updaters and markets, everything is configured manually. To add an application, use the button Add and provide a direct link to the source or use the search where you need to select the desired repository.

On the Obtainium main screen, you can manage the list of applications: create categories, group APKs into them, filter by parameters. In the menu of each application, options are available: pin to top, open source page, download APK, share link, mark as updated. This provides complete control over third-party applications.

For not too advanced users, this basic functionality is enough, but there are even more subtle settings:

The translation of the application into Russian leaves much to be desired, so it is better to use English.
