SotM EU 2023
Global State of the Map conference hosted by OSMF this year did not have. Instead, many local conferences took place, the largest of which was the European version of the conference. SotM EU took place in Antwerp on November 10-12.

Sarah Hoffmann reports about an experiment to improve the performance of the Nominatim Python frontend using SQLAlchemy optimization. Optimization improves the performance of the Python frontend, but it is still not as good as the previous PHP frontend
Licenses
Kathleen Lu of the OSMF Licensing Working Group offers EU governments to release their open data under a CC-0 license rather than CC-BY-4.0 so that it can be used in OSM. If this is still not possible, he proposed a slight modification to the CC-BY-4.0 license to make it compatible with the OpenStreetMap license.
