What it's like to work in Azure support

We came across this the note in Reddit (by the time of publication it was removed) about the conditions of work in Azure support. We publish its translation.

I'm an Azure support engineer and I'd like you to get a glimpse into our daily work routine.

I work in LTI Mindtree (outstaffing company) in Poland, doing tasks for Microsoft Projects. We face terrible management, mostly from Indian managers. Every time you give us less than 5 stars, our Indian managers start yelling at us. Their management style is excessive workload, unpaid overtime, and strong psychological pressure. Officially, overtime is not required, but the volume of tasks often forces you to stay after work. The work environment is hostile. A typical situation is when an employee, fearing punishment, skips lunch. Managers often yell at people and insult them.

We have also had real cases of sexual harassment that have been swept under the rug rather than addressed. There have been promises of pay rises that have never happened. This has caused a lot of stress for many, especially those on work visas. We work in a prison-like environment, complete with pervasive security checks and poor hygiene standards.

Here you can read employee testimonials with detailed descriptions of cases of sexual harassment and examples of aggressive, sexist behavior: https://www.gowork.pl/opinie_czytaj,21922480

If you follow the link above, you can read the details of working in Microsoft outsourcing:

  • total control;

  • processing;

  • disrespectful attitude;

  • persecution of those who bring problems to light;

  • inaction of HR, etc.

However, even in this environment there was someone who decided to fight. We tried to contact him. If the attempt is successful, you will learn the rest of this story.

But even from the message he left on the review site, it is clear that in order to effectively defend his rights, he had to unite with other colleagues.

Be like him. Unite.
