How we made a guide to digital for seniors

Surely many have had situations (not one or two) when an older relative asks for help with this computer of yours. And even a smartphone. Therefore, we decided to help, on the one hand, parents and grandparents, and on the other hand, IT people who (with all their love for their relatives) thought about automating such advice.

So we have developed a guide to technologies and trends in the modern world. It tells about popular IT services, modern professions, and even cybersecurity. You just hand over the guide – and you don’t have to explain how the data analyst differs from the frontend, and where is this “Start” button in general.

Moreover, we did not take the topics from the ceiling, but based on the results of many focus groups with volunteers over 55 years old. And in addition, we collected stories from younger volunteers about how they helped older relatives with technology. For those who shared with us valuable insights or particularly interesting stories, we, of course, presented copies of such guides. Now we want to share with you.

Contest!

To participate in the draw tell your favorite (real) story in the comments about helping a relative with a computer, smartphone, digital service, the Internet and any other digital.

For example “Once I told my grandfather what cryptocurrency is, and a month later he was on the Interpol list as the founder of a financial pyramid on the blockchain“. Or “He taught his mom how to use Midjourney, and now he draws WhatsApp cards for the holidays for her“. But preferably with all the details!

Among these stories we July 18 we will choose the most liked one, determine the winner and solemnly send him our hardcover guide! Here’s one:

And if you open the directory, it will look something like this

There is still a lot of time before summing up, so we are looking forward to your stories!

And if there are no stories in mind, and you still want to make it easier to help your beloved relatives, you can download the guide in PDF here. There you can also read the stories that were shared with us at the first stages. But it’s better to share your own 🙂
