Analysis of Telegram accounts

Introduction

Greetings again dear readers! I continue the series of articles “SH” and today our dish will be Telegram. In previous articles, we looked at ways to analyze the target user's accounts by his nickname, after which we conducted reconnaissance of his account on the VKontakte social network. Now I make it important for myself to find out the user’s phone number, since the number can already be a good starting point for reconnaissance and the phone number can tell even more about its owner. In the last article we tried to find out the number using the VKontakte page, and in this one, as you already guessed from the name, we will try to find out as much information as possible about the Telegram account.

Disclaimer: All data provided in this article is taken from open sources. They do not call for action and are only data for familiarization and study of the mechanisms of the technologies used.

Stage 1

Finding out the user ID

As you guessed it, we will work mainly with telegram bots within the framework of this article. Most bots ask for a unique user ID as input. It’s quite easy to get it, let’s look at the three methods I use.

Using a bot

No matter how trivial it may be, the identifier can easily be obtained through the same Eyes of Godyou just need to enter your nickname and select telegram.

Official Telegram client on PC

Another simplest way is using the Telegram client on a PC.
To do this, go to settings –> Advanced settings –> Experimental settings –> Show Peer IDs in Profile.

Now we can immediately see his id in each user’s profile.

BGram Android

A modification of the Telegram client for Android in which this function is already built in by default.

Stage 2

Find out various information about the user using bots

Eye of God

With everyone's help famous bot You can find out the overall reputation of the account (whether there was any information leaked).

As we can see, the account is already quite old and there is a phone number in the database; this information will be very useful to us for shareware bots.

Insight

In my humble opinion, it is one of the best shareware bots for reconnaissance of telegram accounts. Determines the owner’s hobby, possible location and many, many interesting things; you can see one of the striking examples below.

For collecting a general portrait of a person, this is a pretty good bot. It’s quite easy to get currency for searching, the bot itself will give you a little currency into your account from time to time, again it all depends on how often you use it and how many accounts you have.

fun-stat-bot

Another cool bot to collect general information about the user, like the previous bot, it collects the user’s interests based on the communities in which he is a member. It can reveal past account names. Another very interesting thing is the user’s messages in public chats, even if they were previously deleted by the user.

Here we are greeted by many points after we have entered the target account id, let's look at all the points that are available to us. But at first you shouldn’t be happy, since all points are opened for the bot’s currency “knowledge crystals”. The bot generously shares this currency with you when you first log into the bot, and it gives you as many as 20 crystals. Currency can accumulate on its own in small volumes.

The first point is the profile, it provides us with information about how active the account is in general, and based on this we can already conclude whether this is the main account or not. Plus, there may be additional names/tags, and therefore new nicknames by which you can also start the search from scratch.

In the “Acquaintances” item, we can observe who the user most often replies to, in public chats, of course, and logically finding out who the user is familiar with.

In the “analysis” section, the bot analyzes the content of messages and, based on this content, makes assumptions about likes, age, phone number, etc. True, in some places it displays incorrectly, for example, he considered this message to be “age”.

I really like the “Chats” item, because it shows in as much detail as possible which chats the user is/has been in.

A very detailed “Messages” item, in which we can look at pictures, videos, links and other types of messages that the user sent in VKontakte chat attachments, or we can just look at them all.

Tags, usernames, can also be extremely useful.

A very interesting feature is tracking the user and his activity on the network, which can be useful.

TeleSINT

Another bot that will determine which conversations the user is in. I don't have much to add, because I'm using it to try to extract some possible new information.

Stage 3

Find out the phone number

The most important stage has arrived – finding a phone number, which will be the key for us to many other data of the target user. Unfortunately, at this point there will be only two bots, since in my experience these are the only free and shareware bots with which I was able to effectively find account phone numbers.

Telegram Analyst

Completely free botwhich has a small database of telegram accounts and very rarely can produce something sensible, but sometimes it can lead to a story.

This bot has a very specific way of replenishing the database, using trap bots. Unfortunately, I can’t provide a current list of them, but I think it won’t be difficult to find them on several thematic channels.

Unamer

And for dessert too one wonderful and functional bot, which can give both the history of the account name and, with some probability, the phone number. Unfortunately, it is not as generous with internal currency as previous bots, but it also does not spend currency if it does not find information. If we consider the free option of using it, then it is a one-time use, or wait several centuries if you get something as a bonus. If we consider the paid option, then 11 tokens will be equal to $10, which at the time of writing is about 930 rubles.

Conclusion

I hope that the bots I presented in this article will help in investigations and in gaining experience for enthusiasts. Of course, almost every bot is shareware and it would be much more effective to use paid versions, which I readily agree with. But you will agree that for paid versions of bots, those people who succeed in the field of OSINT do not need any guides or reviews.
