Why Karate Is the Best Martial Art for an IT Professional

People who do mental work and want to master self-defense skills, train their willpower, should choose karate, jiu-jitsu and aikido. Boxing or other striking activities are not suitable because they involve blows to the head.

Where to start

Regarding the start in karate, I can only express my opinion. Of course, others may disagree with it. It is worth starting with finding a coach. Come and see what kind of person he is: how you feel about him, what kind of people are training with him – is this team close to you.

For adults, there should be comprehensive development without a specific focus: flexibility exercises, stretching, gradual strengthening of joints. Then emotional strengthening and mental preparation for the fight are added. All this takes time. If there is a feeling of being forced and the training process looks like “thrown into the water, whoever floats up will continue”, these are clear signs of low quality training. Your body needs to “breathe”, move, and love the classes.

Pay attention to the hall. There should be good ventilation, lighting and inventory. It is impossible to achieve good results if there are no paws, makiwara and other tools. You can shake the air, but not train.

I see many young people who recklessly give themselves over to one hobby. My personal opinion: it is stupid to kill your body, turning bones into metal, and then abandon self-care for later. Health should be taken care of from a young age – everything should be smooth and bring pleasure.

Choose art. Find like-minded people. The right martial art will open up an endless and exciting world of power for you. It will feed you from within, both literally and figuratively.
