About salaries in IT
Last month, we published a study of IT salaries for the first six months of 2024. It is based entirely on calculator data. The median salary increased by 8% compared to the second half of 2023 and fell by 8% year-on-year.
Salaries have grown in almost all major cities of Russia, except for Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk, where salaries have remained at the same level. The largest increase was shown by Volgograd, Ufa and Chelyabinsk.
The leaders of the rating were Moscow, St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg, where the salary range varied from 155 thousand to 200 thousand rubles. The average salary in the Russian Federation, according to Rosstat, in the first half of the year was 80 thousand rubles.
The highest earners in the country are specialists in the fields of development, management, analytics, administration, and cybersecurity. Over the past six months, employees in the areas of sales, testing, content creation, design, and support have started earning significantly more.
