Top Global Business Intelligence Tools 2024: Review
Introduction
This article was intended as an assessment of the TOP tools in the BI analytics market in 2024, because… all the materials that could be found earlier, in one form or another, mislead people, slipping little-known systems to readers and passing them off as some kind of TOP.
The goal is to help those who are just starting their journey in data analysis to become familiar with global market trends and products that are worth focusing on when working with Bi platforms.
Reasons for writing the article
The reason why I decided to write this article is simple: there are many articles on the RuNet about top BI tools and import-substituted systems. However, these materials are often far from the real BI technology market.
Many authors, trying to highlight lesser-known solutions, place them on a par with the largest systems, which misleads readers. I decided to stop here and provide a list of those systems that are truly relevant on the world market as of September 2024 and are relevant not only in my opinion, but in the opinion of the statistics that are given at the end of this article.
Basic systems
In this article I will analyze only 5 main bi-systems that deserve attention, although there are certainly many more of them:
Complete list of bi systems
Selecting Systems to Consider
In this article we will look at only 5 of them. Other systems can be considered “copycats” or by-products with limited audience, functionality and support.
At the end of the article I will provide a rationale for choosing these 5 systems.
Positions in the ranking
Let's start with systems that occupy 4-5 places. Almost any of the candidates mentioned above can be placed in these positions. They are all good in their own way, but their popularity among Internet users is not their strong point. There are top tools on the market that are used by 90% of all analysts. So, we'll talk about Oracle BI And SAP Business Objects.
Oracle BI
Oracle BI is an enterprise BI tool that provides powerful capabilities for analyzing large volumes of data. It allows you to create dashboards, configure notifications and much more.

SAP Business Objects

A nice feature of the platform is the personalized dashboards that allow users to create their own reports. SAP is suitable for all levels: IT professionals, end users and management. However, the complexity of the product increases its price, so be prepared for this.

3 Place and QlikSense
You can safely give it to the guys who develop QlikSense. The platform has its own “unique” features and is easy to learn. At one time, we built analytics for some large companies on this platform. After PBI, we can say that the “miracle” click is rare, but for some reason those who have been working on it for a long time and closely praise it… a matter of taste, I guess =)
QlikSense is a complete set of business intelligence tools. Qlik's product is known for its unique association analytics, powerful AI and high performance cloud platform. One of the interesting features is natural language analytics, which makes it easier to ask questions and gain insights.

Pros:
Powerful associative analytics engine: Allows you to analyze data in any direction and find connections that are not always obvious.
Intuitive interface: Ease of use and customization of reports without the need for programming knowledge.
Mobile device support: The platform is optimized for use on mobile devices, which makes it convenient for remote data analysis.
Powerful data visualization: QlikSense offers a variety of tools for data visualization and dashboard building.
Cons:
High cost: QlikSense licenses can be expensive for small companies.
Difficulty setting up: Advanced use may require in-depth knowledge of the system, which may require a learning curve.
Limited work with big data: For very large data volumes, performance may be degraded.
2nd place
In the tops, I would add two systems at once because everything is complicated here. Opinions vary and if you live in Canada (suddenly) then your choice in 61% of cases will be Tablo, but if you live somewhere in the rest of the world then there is a 50+% chance that you will choose Power Bi, but the average around the world is second The place is given by a solution from Microsoft, namely Power Bi.
Microsoft Power BI is a web-based business intelligence tool with excellent data visualization capabilities. It allows you to analyze data in real time, integrate with other applications and create reports.
Website: www.powerbi.microsoft.com
Grade
Pros:
Ease of use: Power BI has an intuitive interface that makes it accessible to users with different levels of knowledge.
Integration with Microsoft products: Works great with other Microsoft tools such as Excel, Azure and SharePoint.
Price: Available plans, including a free version with basic features.
Cloud and local solutions: Ability to work both in the cloud and locally on the organization’s servers.
Cons:
Limited capabilities with large data volumes: Performance may be affected when processing very large data.
Scalability issues: In large companies, Power BI may be less effective than more powerful BI platforms.
Limited customization options: Some features may require complex solutions if specific business needs are involved.
Well, by a small margin TOP 1 all over the world among bi systems
Tableau
Tableau is a business intelligence tool that specializes in data visualization. It supports multiple data sources, including MS Excel and Google Analytics, and offers easy-to-use dashboards.
Website: www.tableau.com
Grade
Pros:
Great data visualization: Tableau is considered one of the best tools for creating beautiful and clear dashboards and reports.
Ease of use: Even users with little experience can quickly master the product and start building dashboards.
Integration with different data sources: Tableau supports multiple data sources including Excel, Google Analytics, SQL databases and more.
High data processing speed: The platform can quickly process large amounts of data and visualize it in real time.
Cons:
Price: Tableau is one of the most expensive BI solutions on the market, especially for large organizations.
Difficulties with licenses: Different types of licenses can create confusion and make it difficult for large companies to implement a product.
Limited capabilities for advanced analytics: Tableau is more focused on data visualization rather than advanced analytics and deep data modeling.
What were my conclusions about the distribution of tops based on?
Everything is simple, as always, based on numbers and market demand. Below are the shares of queries from Google Trends and other market assessment sources:
Scoreboard and 51,000 articles – user requests
Power Bi – 31,000
Qlik – 2,300 (at a stretch and taking into account all the articles on View and Sense)
SAP Business Objects – 3,000
Oracle BI – 1,200 queries
All other systems receive even far less than 1000 requests on stackoverflow =(
If you have any questions or clarifications, I will be happy to discuss.
I publish more materials about analytics and advertising in my TG channel.
