Spanish flea market: cameras, old cell phones and very old laptops

Hello, Habr! Today is Saturday, which means it’s time to go to the flea market. The weather is good – now there are clouds and +25 instead of the usual +35 at this time. From the sky, a stern eye, made of clouds, looks at everything that happens, but no one is afraid – trade goes on as usual.

Today there were especially many old cell phones, no less old laptops, and, of course, full of all kinds of other interesting things. Anyone interested – please, under the cat.

Traditionally, everything starts with a scattering of all sorts of different things – here you can find games for the PlayStation 2, cars with radio control and a camera – a baby monitor.

Then – a bunch of old and not so phones. I think that many here will recognize their own acquisitions of the 2010s. By the way, there is also a Nokina camera – I often meet them, apparently, they used to be popular, since they are sold in such quantities.

More telephones, plus walkie-talkies – the seller says they are working. But this is one of the most inexpensive models from SilverCrest. It costs a little in the store, but it is sold cheaply at the flea market – the seller wanted 5 euros.

And here is the first really interesting find. Mobile phone T39m. At one time, it was a breakthrough, since the device is the first from Ericsson’s lineup to receive Bluetooth. But in general, its functions and capabilities are similar to those of the R520. Bluetooth made it possible to play tennis – and together, transfer business cards and other data. Gorgeous device – that’s it full overview… Maybe its author is even on Habré?

Well, we move on. Now comes the Panasonic rx66 camera. Sold with a cover, remote control, cables. The seller wants 10 euros. I looked at a local online flea market – there this model in working order costs 30-40 euros. Not bad, apparently, someone is still using it.

Another phone is something very ancient from Sagem. Unfortunately, I did not look at the model, but it is clearly a product of the late 90s, early 2000s. Nearby – a much newer model, this is Siemens C55. By the way, I had a Siemens M55 – no complaints at all.

Nearby – three phones from Nokia at once, including the legendary model 3310, which will survive the Universe itself. All three phones are in very good condition, I won’t be surprised if their batteries are still alive – maybe they only have to “push” from the power source. For all three, the seller wanted 15 euros. I think if I had bargained, then even 10 could have been received.

Even further are stereos from Sharp (for Solid State stereo cassettes, as written) and Sony.

Well, a bunch of floppy disks – there even come across packs of new, unused media. True, rarely, more often – these are the heaps of floppy disks that were used by someone often.

Another interesting find is the Ericsson GA628 phone. The ’97, by the way, is already a quarter of a century old. Characteristics:

  • Production: Sweden
  • Model: Summer 1997
  • Battery: Ni-MH 1000 mAh (GA628); Ni-MH 500 mAh (GA628e)
  • Standby time up to 83 hours and up to 3.3 hours talk time (GA628) and 41 hours and up to 2 hours. 30 minutes. for GA628e
  • GSM 900
  • Liquid crystal display 3 lines
  • Phonebook: 50 in SIM-card memory + 5 last dialed and not received calls
  • 11 ringing options: 7 melodies + 4 tones
  • 18 languages, including Russian
  • SMS-mail
  • Antenna non-retractable
  • Replaceable front panel
  • Dimensions 130x49x23 mm

Previously, it cost like a cast-iron bridge, or even two at once.

And then another cool find – several figures of the key characters of “The Lord of the Rings” at once. Very well done, however, Galadriel looks somewhat like a man in disguise, but what can you do. The figurines are not cheap – the seller wanted 5 euros per piece. If there are experts, tell us whether it is expensive or cheap.

The seller has a number of working and not very mobile phones, among which the iPhone 6 stands out without a screen (but with a motherboard, camera, battery, etc.) and some other phone – apparently also an iPhone. For spare parts – the very thing.

I also found a motherboard from one of the old iPhone models.

A little further away – a bunch of cables, speakers from a home theater and Play Station 2, it may well be in working order. They give them for a penny, since the sellers themselves do not know whether they are working or not.

PlayStation 3 was immediately caught. I used to buy them and, if possible, restore them – I played something and sold them later. Now there is simply no time to mess around, and they take up a lot of space. But still itching to buy, especially since they sell them for 10-15 euros. Sometimes there are also discs with games inside.

And another cool find – the New Game 2600 game board is nothing more than Atari. It may well be in working order. True, it is without controllers, cables, just a “carcass”.

And now – Xbox 360, with a hard drive, controller, power supply. The seller says he’s working. Asks for 30 euros, but I think that you can bargain for 20 euros.

Farther still, there is such a bunch of things. There are cameras, an analog video surveillance system, telephones, and the devil knows what else.

Got an original iPhone 11 Pro Max case as far as I can tell. Chinese lay next to him, but this one was clearly the original.

Some kind of ancient smart alarm clock that turns on lights and radio at a given time. The alarm clock clearly lacks a plafond – it is not nearby.

Samsung’s tablet is working, but with a broken display. 16 GB of memory.

And in the end I came across ancient (and not so) laptops, one of which I have never heard of. The first is the ADL Smartbook a360 +.

The second and third are models from IBM and HP. I came across a device from IBM – for its time (about 1998) this is a very cool model. At that time it cost about 2 thousand US dollars and worked excellently. One of my acquaintances still has it in working order.

It is a pity, of course, that such masterpieces of engineering thought are outdated both morally and physically, but there is nothing to be done – time is time.

Well, I’ll tell you about my purchases in the next post – this one turned out to be so large, so I don’t want to stretch it even more. Don’t switch.
