September IT events digest (part two)

In the final September issue, the IT community returns to the pre-quarantine variety of formats and topics (although it still partially remains online): chamber meetups are awakening, hackathons are activated, along with the steadily flourishing information security, frontend and machine learning, narrower topics like mobile forensics and DevOps.

PhotoHack Mobile

The new challenge from the creators of the Photo Lab application for developers and designers will be held online this time. The task is to come up with and implement on the basis of photomasks and the company’s API an original type of functionality that fits into the general concept of the product (a collection of photo effects for different occasions) and is designed for a narrow audience or task. The prize fund is 500,000 rubles.

DevDay 2020

A small meetup dedicated to machine learning technologies (RecSys, CV, Quantum computing) in terms of the practical challenges that companies face. Four speakers will consider the application of different types of algorithms in specific projects: recommender systems, face recognition, quantum computing.

React Global Online Summit

International Summit for React Developers with a rich program – forty talks in twenty four hours. The program is divided into two parts according to the level of difficulty – one course is for seniors, the other for juniors. WBTechDay 2020

A representative of the Wildberries company will give a detailed story about the technical implementation of some aspects of the application. In particular, we will talk about the architecture of the Wildberries payment gateway (implementation of retry patterns, exponential backoff, circuit breaker, using RabbitMQ for queues, CERN for storage and redis-cluster for caching), microservice patterns, prevention of inconsistency and double payments.

MOBILE FORENSICS DAY 2020

The fourth annual gathering of digital forensics specialists. This year’s program is divided into two days – there was a place in it for reports and master classes. Speakers will share with the audience recommendations on data extraction, the use of biometric information, working with encrypted disks, and the use of digital evidence in investigations. The master classes will be devoted to extracting data from devices of different types (Android phones, iOS phones, laptops and personal computers on Windows, macOS and GNU / Linux), as well as the joint analysis of interesting cases.

Docker for .NET

Webinar for .NET developers who are considering learning Docker but are not yet familiar with it. The speaker will start by highlighting the advantages and ways of using the platform, including when developing for Windows, consider the architecture, components and abstractions of Docker, then move on to the installation and operating principles, and finally offer several proven practices.

Labor Hackathon II

The Hackathon, aimed at improving the technological realities of the amusement sector, accepts the latest applications from applicants to participate in the selection. Presenters will, for the most part, review tools for different classes of needs (protection against threats here and now, investigations, risk management); in addition, the company’s employees will talk about new and updated solutions of their own production and share their experience in organizing remote work.

Frontend Live 2020

Week of continuous front-end, during which the organizers expect to have time to cover all aspects of the development of the client side of web projects. Activities will be divided into four tracks: architecture, performance, testing and design. Each of the tracks includes a two-day intensive, reports, workshops and open discussions – a detailed program can be found on the event website. Participants will also receive a catalog of all domestic frontend communities with contacts, a set of teamwork practices, a technical radar with up-to-date tools and a lot of opportunities for informal communication.

DevOps Live 2020

Development, Testing and Operation Integration Conference. The speakers will touch upon various aspects of DevOps in their speeches, from building a strategy and balancing a project to communication and security issues – in aggregate, more than forty cases with a local flavor. In addition, participants will be offered individual consultations that will allow them to assess the current state of affairs in the company and build a step-by-step plan for the further implementation of DevOps.
