Salaries of digital specialists in the first half of 2024

  • Overall growth: salaries increased in all groups of specializations.

  • Differences by region: salaries in Moscow remain higher than in other regions, but the gap is narrowing. Salaries in cities with a population of over a million are approaching the level of St. Petersburg.

  • Interns and juniors: salaries of interns are becoming closer to junior levels, the difference is decreasing.

  • Minimum wages: in most cases, minimum wages have reached 70,000 ₽. Salaries in high grades remain at the same level or are decreasing.

  • Vacancies: the greatest demand is for middles. Interns are sought more often than juniors, which may indicate that the boundaries between these grades are blurring, despite the lower salary of interns.

  • Remote work: remote work is more popular in vacancies for marketers and content specialists.

We will tell you more about all the changes below.

Median salary

The median salary is like the average, only more accurate. It is the level above and below which the same number of specialists receive income. If the median salary in a group of ten people is 100,000 ₽, this means that five receive less than 100,000 ₽, and five receive more.

The largest increase in median salary in 2024 is observed among content creators – 29%, 90,000 ₽. The smallest increase in income was for technical writers: by 5%, to 120,000 ₽.

Salaries by region and city

Vacancies and remote work

We also studied what kind of specialists are currently being sought on the market. Companies need entry-level workers the least — only 5% of employers are looking for juniors. The same indicator applies to leading specialists.

In content and marketing, middles are mostly needed.

More than 60% of vacancies offer remote work.

Salaries of digital specialists are growing, not only in Moscow and other large cities, but also in the regions. The gap is gradually narrowing. Middle specialists are in the greatest demand, but in the last six months, companies have begun to pay more attention to interns. But salaries of high-level specialists are decreasing or remaining the same.
