NX QA Meetup # 14: (In) adequate code review of autotests and testing of the entitlement calculation module

We invite you to NX QA Meetup # 14 on November 19th. Dmitry Tuchs from PropellerAds will talk about good and bad code review examples in “classic” selenium end-to-end tests. With Oleg Zhuravlev from Nexign, we will talk about user rights models and testing methods when updating the rights calculation module.

There is an opinion that many novice (and not only) QA automation engineers do not quite correctly understand the meaning of code review autotests, pay attention to minor details and sometimes miss the really important ones.

Code review is what makes a QA engineer completely related to a developer, but not always a large background in testing is enough to make a code review only useful. Dmitry Tuchs suggests discussing examples of good and bad reviews in “classic” selenium end-to-end tests. The examples are not tied to specific technologies: something will be from Java, something from JS.

Together with Oleg Zhuravlev, we will talk about what models of user rights exist, what and how to test when updating such an important component of any system as the module for calculating rights with examples of code in Python and Java. Let’s consider authorization and authentication of users in systems, discuss a single point of authentication (SSO) in different systems.
