Materials Database. New in nanoCAD BIM Constructions 23.1

Do you work in nanoCAD BIM Constructions and you miss visualization in objects? With version 23.1, a lot has changed! The principle of working with materials has changed. In the tab Service a small but undoubtedly important point appeared: Materials base (Fig. 1).

Let's study the new product in more detail. Let's go to ServiceMaterials base. The library window will open – here is a list of pre-configured materials (Fig. 2).

All materials are structured. Each of them has its own ID and name, sorted by classes. In addition, there is the possibility to add a new (custom) material: edit a copy of an existing one or create from scratch using the default parameters (Fig. 3).

The properties of the base materials include both physical and visual characteristics. The list of material parameters can be adjusted by adding or removing parameters in the same way as when creating and editing parametric objects (Fig. 4).

To assign a material to an object, you need to select this object, go to its properties, add parameters Material ID And Material name (located in the section Building materials), and then in the parameter line Material ID press the button with ellipsis (Fig. 5).

You need to select an existing material from the drop-down list or create a new one, then click OK. The element will receive a visual display that matches the parameters of the assigned material.

To output materials to the specification, you can use the “Specifier” tool (Fig. 6).

Next, we need to enter into the selection those properties (parameters) of the materials whose output we need. The algorithm of work is no different from that used when creating other specifications (Fig. 7).

Important! At the moment, the material database is stored in the .dwt template. Therefore, when installing version 23 and transferring settings from the previous one (for example, 22), it is recommended not to leave the old settings. Otherwise, the material database may be empty. If for some reason the settings were transferred, the template should be changed in them (Fig. 8).

Let's summarize briefly. Functionality Materials base allows you to visualize the material of structures and project elements using new tools, provides technical information about it and makes it possible to summarize this information in tables and specifications.
