Inferit Silver Laptop Review
I got the Inferit Silver laptop from the Russian company Inferit for review. The device looks decent: metal case, minimalist design, matte display and small size. In this article, we will find out what the Inferit Silver laptop is capable of and what it can be used for.
Equipment
Inferit Silver comes in a cardboard box with a handle for transportation. Inside it is the laptop itself and a power adapter with a USB-C output. A big plus is that the device can be charged using a universal port. If something breaks, you can always replace the charger. In addition, the box contains a brief instruction.
Design and form factor
The laptop is quite compact and minimalistic. There are no aggressive geometry or strange details on the case. On the top cover there is a mirrored Inferit logo, and at the bottom there are vents and speakers. The cover is on bolts, so it is not as easy to get to the battery and other insides as we would like. The upper part of the case is metal, and the lower cover is made of plastic. The laptop passes a kind of “MacBook test” – the cover can be opened with one hand.

There are many ports, so you will need fewer adapters for daily work. But there are some downsides. Firstly, I would like to see a more modern HDMI. Secondly, a port for TF memory cards in a laptop is almost never needed. Instead, it is better to build in a slot for full-size SD cards. They are most often used in cameras, and if you need to insert a TF card, it is easier to do this through a full-size adapter.
I can't say that the keyboard of this laptop is very pleasant to the touch, but it is comfortable. There is no discomfort during long typing. The only complaint is about the Shift and Enter keys. They were made smaller, so the little fingers constantly flew into the slashes. You definitely need to get used to this, otherwise constant misses quickly become annoying. On the plus side: there is a fingerprint scanner and a TPM module, which ensures the security of user data.
At the top of the screen there is a hole for the webcam. It is covered with a plastic curtain. If necessary, it can be moved. Some users tape over the webcams, here the manufacturer thought about such a scenario in advance.
Another feature of the laptop is the ability to open it 180 degrees. I never got around to using this, but it is likely that someone might find it useful. The device weighs about 1.3 kg and is 17.9 mm thick. The laptop is convenient to take with you and work outside the home.
Screen
The laptop has a 14-inch IPS matrix with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels. The declared peak brightness is 300 nits, and the display coating is matte. The brightness is not enough for a sunny day, and the screen glares. If you work indoors, there is no discomfort. I would especially like to note the matte display coating, it collects less dirt and scratches.
There are highlights in the corners, which are clearly visible on a dark screen. Also, light objects on a black background create a glow effect, but this is typical for such a matrix.
There are no particular problems with the uniformity of illumination on a white background.
For design or color correction, it is better to use external monitors with a wide color gamut and higher peak brightness. For everyday tasks, the built-in display is also perfect.
Performance
To evaluate performance, it is important to immediately understand what components are installed inside:
CPU: Intel Core i7-1260Р;
Video card: Intel Iris Xe Graphics (80EU), 1.3 MHz;
RAM: one 16 GB strip, you can install a second one up to a total of 32 GB.
SSD: 512GB, expandable up to 4TB;
Wi-Fi: M.2 2230 PCIe&CNVi with support for WiFi 802.11b/g/n/ac/ax standards;
Bluetooth: 5.1;
Ethernet RJ45: 10-1000 Mbs.
I ran a few tests in Geekbench 6. The results are synthetic, but they still allow you to roughly estimate the capabilities of the laptop. In the single-core test, the processor gives 2195 points, in the multi-core test – 6535. The laptop is not a star, but it does not claim to set records in the rating.
Integrated graphics tests showed a result of 12.2 thousand points. This is not enough for some demanding games, but you can run popular online games on medium settings. During the tests, I launched Minecraft, in my opinion, an excellent benchmark for budget and mid-budget laptops. For smooth gameplay, I had to set the rendering quality to “Speed”. The frame rate increased, but the visibility range was noticeably reduced. At the same time, the cooling system hummed quite loudly.
I also tried to launch the new IDE from Sber. I needed something very heavy for working with code, so VS Code was immediately out. In my opinion, it is comfortable to work in complex development environments, in any case, the interface is responsive and projects are quickly assembled, but I did not check the functionality on a large code base. The cooling system also made a lot of noise when launching the IDE.
I also tested Inferit Silver in machine learning tasks. There is no separate neural chip in the laptop, so I ran tests first on the video card, and then on the processor. In the first case, the device scored 1911 points, in the second – 2191. These figures are slightly lower than the results of the iPhone 13 Pro Max. The MacBook Pro on the M3 Max chip collects more than 10 thousand points, but it has a dedicated NPU for neural networks and machine learning.
conclusions
Inferit Silver is well suited for daily tasks, office work, programming and home entertainment.
The laptop is compact and lightweight, making it easy to take with you.
The variety of ports is a big plus of the device.
The minimalist design does not attract unnecessary attention.
There is a fingerprint scanner and a TPM module.
The keyboard is comfortable, but I would like to see full-size Shift and Enter keys.
You can increase the amount of RAM and SSD.
