I just want to remind you what Linux looked like for the average user 19 years ago
System: Kororaa Live CD, compiled to demonstrate the latest version of the Compiz window manager.
At that time, the current version of Windows was XP, for comparison.
We were then spinning desktop cubes – a beauty unprecedented on Windows.
I still miss all the beauties of that time, like the Beryl window decorator.
But apparently, whistling is not the main parameter for choosing a system to work with.
Much has changed since then, Linux is still the leader in beauty (at the user’s discretion), it supports almost everything that is possible and what is not possible through WINE and similar projects, but for some reason on work desktops it is mainly used by front-end developers.
Well, on SteamDeck consoles. Big respect to VALVe.
