How to Transfer Tracks from Spotify to Yandex.Music (Complete Guide)

Spotify recently announced its temporary withdrawal from the Russian market. Now it is not clear what will happen to the accounts of Russian users and the music they have saved, so it’s time to take care of transferring your favorite tracks to another service. You can transfer tracks to Yandex.Music without a subscription, so for now I have chosen it.

So, in order not to lose your music, you need to use one of the transfer services. (As it turned out, Spotify does not have the ability to output music to a file without third-party applications, at least I did not find it).

Method 1. Auto-transfer

This method has its drawbacks:

  • You can’t select specific playlists and tracks – only all the music you have.

  • It does not always work – sometimes the service is unavailable

If this does not suit you, go straight to method 2.

1. Go to new Yandex.Music import page – we see the possibility of choosing a service from which music will be exported, select spotify:

step 1. choice
step 1. choice

2. The page with the entrance to spotify will open, after entering you will be prompted to give permission to the bot to use your data – we agree (disabling the bot is shown at the very bottom of the page)

step 2. acceptance of the terms
step 2. acceptance of the terms

3. After that, you will be returned to the Yandex.Music page and you just need to wait for the transfer of your tracks – all the tracks and playlists that are available will be transferred and become available in your profile.

step 3. waiting for export
step 3. waiting for export

Method 2: Manually and securely

I will show with an example tunemymusicbut I think that the procedure for other services will not be very different.

1. When you go to the main page of the tunemymusic site, you will see a big banner, in fact, you need to click on the “Let’s get started” button on it.

step 1. start
step 1. start

2. After that, you will be prompted to select a service, from which you want to transfer music – we choose, of course, Spotify (since it comes first).

step 2. service selection
step 2. service selection

3. Next, you will be automatically transferred to the Spotify page, or a plate will appear on top that you need to click on and you will find yourself on this very page. Here you just need to log into your account (if you paid for a subscription, then you probably already did this before)

step 3. authorization
step 3. authorization

4. After logging in, you will see a window in which you need to allow the application access to your data (later this can be disabled in the settings), now click “Accept”

step 4. consent
step 4. consent

5. You will be redirected to the service website, where you need to click on the “Download from your account” button

step 5. download
step 5. download

6. The app will show all your tracks and playlists, you need to select the ones you want to transfer.

step 6. choose music
step 6. choose music

Select and click “Next: Select a target platform”

7. There is a nuance here. You can export everything as a file or transfer directly to the platform. Unfortunately, when you click on Yandex.Music, it prompts us to enter a password and login from it (without any secure connections to the account, which seems suspicious), so I just transferred the music to a file.

step 7.1. Target platform selection
step 7.1. Target platform selection

For Yandex.Music, select the .txt format.

step 7.2. Format selection
step 7.2. Format selection

The service will carefully ask us if we want to transfer the selected music – just click “Start transferring music”

Upon completion, you will receive a text file like this:

received file
received file

8. Next, just go to the page import Yandex.Music.

Don’t worry, in order to import music to this service, you don’t have to be subscribed to it, for example, I am not subscribed at the time of this writing.

Here you can select a file, or simply paste all of its text into the appropriate field. I pasted the text and clicked “Find”

step 8. insert into Yandex.music
step 8. insert into Yandex.music

The request will be processed for some time, don’t worry, upon completion of the work, all your tracks (if they are in Yandex.Music) will be found and the following list will appear:

step 9. save to playlist
step 9. save to playlist

9. Click the “Save to playlist” button and then select the playlist in which you want to save all your tracks. Or you can do the same for each track separately.

Ready. Music is now in your account, even if you don’t have a subscription!

Item 10 is optional, but if I were you, I would take care of my data, go to spotifyin the tab “account” Further Apps and pressed “Remove access”

deleting app from spotify account
deleting app from spotify account

So the application will no longer be able to receive your personal data.
