How to make a recruiter your lawyer?

We are all looking for a job at some point. And in this process we encounter a recruiter. In order not to be afraid of meeting him and not to spit in his direction because of the refusal, read our recommendations. In a series of posts #ihateinterview we will share life hacks on how to make this process not so excruciatingly painful. Go!

Hiring:

  1. Do not submit your resume for multiple positions in the same company.

  2. Answer the question you were asked. Clear, but detailed. Too much water is bad. A monosyllabic answer “yes, I did” won’t work either.

  3. If you are a June, be sure to write a cover letter in which you will tell about projects close to real and / or pet projects. It makes no sense to write in a personal and stalker the recruiter. As well as pointing out acquaintances from the industry. If you have them, ask them to make an intro.

  4. At the interview, everyone decorates their experience. But you don’t need to write about projects that you saw with one eye. And even if you saw them with two eyes, you are not ready to take responsibility for repetition in a new company. You will be asked about the details, as a result, all participants will just waste time.

  5. Read about the company and its projects. This will save everyone time, and you will be able to ask more specific questions about the goals of the project and expectations from your role (which, by the way, is not the same as from you personally).

  6. Try to be friendly despite the excitement. Recruiters see 100,500 people and it is their job to identify the assholes. At the same time, it’s not worth the hassle either.

  7. Answer the question for yourself: do you (in life, not in work) like to do from scratch and take risks, looking for new ways, or to systematize what you already have? Depending on the answer, choose the tasks to be solved (for middle +). Violence for the sake of money has never made anyone happy, really.

  8. Last but not least: if you don’t know the answer to a question, be honest and keep talking out loud. No one expects you to know the answers to all questions, but it is important for everyone to understand how you think. This is great practice for you, even if the interviewer doesn’t like the answer.

It is important to remember that a recruiter is not an evil chick whose goal is to reject you. The goal is to close a job. And the more you learn about each other at this stage, the greater the chance that you will find a place on the advice of Confucius, and not a temporary shelter.

Questions to definitely ask:

  1. What specific tasks do I have to solve? (they must be reflected in the offer)

  2. What will happen if I do not have time to complete them for I.S.? (here they should talk about the approach, and you should understand whether it suits you)

  3. How is the employee development process in the company structured? (The abstract answer “we are for the growth of employees” should not suit you. You need to find out exactly about the presence or absence of the system).

  4. Who is doing these tasks now? (here you will understand whether you are being taken on as a replacement or someone needs to be unloaded, or this is a new project. From this we can conclude how difficult it will be to obtain information that is not documented)

  5. What are the criteria for increasing Z.P. and positions?

  6. What are the criteria for evaluating my work? If the answers are abstract, offer your own and finalize in writing. This is the thing for which you will be I.S. close.

Think of us as propagandists, but we believe, and never tire of repeating, that being honest and open in an interview is more likely to get you your dream job than trying to please you.
