How to get an education from the NEIMARK IT campus already in 2024?

In the center of Nizhny Novgorod, a little further away from the eyes of numerous tourists, large-scale construction work is underway. Here, 18 buildings of a new hotel are being erected, which will host students and visiting teachers of the NEIMARK IT campus. Next to it, the heart and brain of the campus will appear – an educational building designed for 5 thousand people. It will house classrooms, a library, the rector's office and a conference hall.

Moreover, as early as September 1, 2024, NEIMARK is ready to accept its students who wish to receive an education in the field of information technologies of a new format.

Educational programs from NEIMARK – what is the essence?

It is not quite right to present the IT campus as another technical university. It is rather a new philosophy of education. The main task of NEIMARK is to unite the efforts of science, business and the state in order to reduce the gap between the theory that students receive during their years of study and the real practical needs of the IT market.

This requires that practicing IT specialists participate in the educational process. Their task is to help form programs and training modules, provide students with the opportunity to practice in real companies and gain experience in solving current problems.

It is important that students receive a strong fundamental base, especially in the field of mathematics. Therefore, it is planned to involve recognized scientists involved in relevant research projects in the training of future IT leaders.

While the walls of its own buildings are being erected and awaiting commissioning, NEIMARK, together with leading regional universities, is launching the first network programs. They were developed with the participation of numerous campus partners – “leading figures” in the IT industry.

Where will the training take place?

According to the survey conducted this year researchartificial intelligence (AI) today seems to be the most promising area for 81% of young Nizhny Novgorod residents who associate their future with the digital sphere.

For those who share this opinion, this fall, a higher education program will be launched at HSE Nizhny Novgorod.Artificial and augmented intelligence technologies“.

Valery Cherepennikov

Director of ANO NEIMARK

Artificial intelligence has become one of the key areas of training at the IT campus. The great advantage of our network program with the Nizhny Novgorod Higher School of Economics is that the guys will literally from the first days be immersed in an atmosphere close to working in a real company. Thus, at the exit we will receive ready-made specialists capable of solving problems of forming the technological sovereignty of the country.

The undergraduate program will provide students with an opportunity to study the methods, models, and concepts that underlie artificial intelligence. They will also learn how to apply neural networks, recognize images and speech, and master data analytics and machine learning technologies.

Particular attention will be paid to the practical experience of infotech flagships such as VK and Alfa-Bank. Students of the first network higher education program will take part in team projects based on real working cases of these companies.

The level of the academic base of the program is not inferior to its practical component. It is enough to recall that HSE occupies top spot in group A+ The highest rating for the quality of training specialists in the field of AI, as well as first place in the quality of the educational environment and the demand for graduates in hiring.

Director of the National Research University Higher School of Economics – Nizhny Novgorod

The university's strong fundamental base and the resources of industrial partners will allow students to obtain the most advanced knowledge and practices during their studies and to apply for serious positions immediately after graduation.

The learning process will differ from the usual format of classes from 8:00 to 16:00. It is more of a science club for the elite.

The educational space will be available to students 24/7, including special stands for testing projects, the necessary computing power, a platform for training and deploying models, file storage and databases.

During their studies, students will be able to become artificial intelligence developers, machine learning or computer vision engineers, and data scientists.

In parallel with this program, R.E. Alekseev NSTU, together with the IT campus, will train cybersecurity experts starting in the fall of 2024. According to some calculationstwo-thirds of Russian companies are facing a shortage of cybersecurity specialists, so there is no doubt about the specialists’ prospects

In addition, both universities are among the top three in terms of the number of budget places in the infotech fields in the 2024/25 academic year. Network programs are no exception in this regard. 25 people will be able to master information security of automated systems at R.E. Alekseev NSTU for free, and 10 students will be able to master artificial and augmented intelligence technologies at HSE Nizhny Novgorod.

Will the programs be available next year?

In a year, new applicants will be able to enroll in network programs from NEIMARK University, NSTU, and HSE Nizhny Novgorod. In addition, another program of study will be opened in the 2025/26 academic year: “Connected Software and Hardware Design.”

The campus is developing this bachelor's program together with the Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod. It will help yesterday's schoolchildren become engineers, who are so needed today by the domestic microelectronic, aviation, automobile and mechanical engineering industries.

Graduates of the program will be able to become experts who work at the intersection of hardware and software. They will have low-level programming skills and know how chip architecture is formed.

Oleg Trofimov

Rector of Lobachevsky University

Lobachevsky University has a strong research background in both microelectronics and low-level software development. We also have close ties with industrial partners. Cooperation within the NEIMARK IT Campus strengthens our capabilities and creates a synergistic effect.

Students of all three programs can apply for the Yuri Neimark scholarship. It is designed for first-year students who have chosen IT specialties and have won or taken prizes at the regional and final stages of the All-Russian School Olympiad in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics.

Another benefit, independent of the specific network program, is the opportunity to receive two diplomas upon completion of the course. The first diploma will be from the base university, and the second from the NEIMARK IT Campus.

This can be a big plus in future interviews. But given the close integration of IT industry leaders into the learning process, there is a high probability that talented students will receive job offers from them even before they receive their degrees.
