In our everyday life, we are already accustomed to tools that greatly simplify life. Taxi service, food or grocery delivery – these are services whose main task is to save the user’s time and effort. Agree that it is much easier to press a couple of buttons and in a short time get something without leaving your home or office.

And what can we say about duties that, in general, I would not really like to do, but there is such a need – to clean the apartment, collect and transport things, transfer the parcel to a person on the other side of the city. We have become accustomed to taking cleaning, trucking and couriers for granted and very resentful when we do not have access to it.

But what if I say that when entering the labor market, you can also make your life much easier and significantly speed up this process? Just change your attitude towards “so annoying recruiters” and use them as your tool in finding a job.

Recruiter as a carrier of information

Faced with a situation in which you decide to change jobs (be it project burnout, company closure or any other reason), it will not be superfluous to update the state of the market for yourself. During the time that you were employed, a lot of things could change (in our time for sure). In this situation, it would not be superfluous to have 2-3 acquaintances of recruiters with whom you can talk and find out what is happening in the market in general. I strongly recommend talking with just a few recruiters so that you can get an objective picture

You should not harbor hopes that only you have responded to the vacancy you like. According to our statistics, now for 1 developer vacancy per month there are on average from 50 to 200 responses, depending on the grade, language and conditions in the vacancy (a lot of people want to go remote now). The recruiter who wrote to you, especially if it is a recruiter from a recruitment agency, most often has several vacancies from different companies in his portfolio, which, if you are interested, will be able to directly show you and your achievements to the customer, which will significantly increase the chances of a quick consideration

There are many recruiters, and you are one

Even if you do not have a vacancy relevant to you at the time of the dialogue, the recruiter will still be able to help you by recommending you to his colleagues. The recruiting community is very large and growing every day, and the culture of “recommend a candidate for a bonus” is also gaining momentum. Already there are even special platforms that greatly simplify this procedure.

What should a resume look like?

The stage of creating a resume or editing a resume is disliked by many candidates more than technical interviews. The main task of a CV is to sell you to a company, and you may never have experienced this type of sales in your life. “What to indicate and what not? How to describe your experience? Will the “about me” column affect the impression about me? and these are all the questions that arise even when opening an empty CV file.

Recruiters, on the other hand, are faced with a large number of resumes in the course of their work and know perfectly well what they pay attention to and what they would miss as an annual meeting of classmates.

Send your resume to 2-3 recruiters with the question “What do you say about the resume” and it will become much easier for you. Or order a ready-made resume from a trusted specialist with reviews and take this pain off your head.

The recruiter will tell you where to go

At the time of a career impasse, talking to a recruiter will also not be superfluous. We select developers of different levels for companies and we always know what they want to see in candidates. Therefore, it will not be difficult to suggest what is worth working on and what to pay attention to in the first place. And if you are thinking about a radical change in the vector of your career, then returning to the first point – the recruiter is just a storehouse of useful and relevant information
