Experts explained the need for a transition to digital transformation of the state and the data economy

Today there is a constant increase in the volume of information and increasing requirements for the speed of its transmission and development. The dynamism of digitalization processes of all types of activities and the use of large amounts of information dictate the need for a radical transformation of methods and technologies for managing production and consumption based on digital technologies and data.

A group of MTUSI scientists analyzed the problem and identified the reasons and factors for the transition to the digital transformation of the state and the data economy.

“We can identify four groups of basic interconnected digital technologies that determine the digital transformation of the economy and society. All of them are of revolutionary importance for the economy and life of people, the perception of information, methods of production and consumption, training in medical diagnostics, transport, tourism and culture.”– noted the dean of the Faculty of Digital Economy and Mass Communications of MTUCI, Ph.D. Evgeny Vakhovsky.

High rates of technological development contribute to the evolution of technology, which brings even more significant changes to the economic and social spheres, opening up new opportunities for innovation, production and consumption, improving the quality of life and solving global problems, including environmental ones. MTUSI scientists have compiled their view on the evolution and trends of technology development.

“A systematic solution to the tasks of the national program “Digital Economy” made it possible to obtain not only positive results from their early implementation, but also to provide a technological base with high potential for further development. In the country as a whole, all indicators of national goals were exceeded, the level of digital maturity was 65.8%, the share of mass socially significant services in electronic form was 99.97%, the share of households with Internet access was 86.1%.”,” explained the head of the department “Digital Economics, Management and Business Technologies” MTUCI, Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor Tatiana Salutina.

On average, more than 329 million terabytes of data are created worldwide every day. Big data statistics show that 70% of all data in all sectors of the economy is generated by users. The bulk of such data, 90%, is unstructured: email correspondence, messages on social networks, audio, video, search queries on the Internet.

Thus, MTUSI scientists identified the main reasons for the transition to a data economy:

– growth in volumes collected and processed on the basis of corporate information systems;

– use of big data technology to optimize sales and production;

– application of data-based decision-making tools;

– development of data collection technologies based on the Internet of things;

– business interest in developing the data market and gaining access to government data.

Analytical materials and the results of a multivariate forecast for the growth of the volume of information necessary for the production and life of people confirmed the natural nature of the transition to a data economy and the continuity of the achieved results of the technological and social development of the digital economy.

The research was carried out by the dean of the Faculty of Digital Economy and Mass Communications of MTUCI, Ph.D. Evgeniy Vakhovsky, Head of the Department of Digital Economy, Management and Business Technologies, MTUCI, Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor Tatyana Salyutina, Professor of the Department of Digital Economy, Management and Business Technologies of MTUCI, Doctor of Economics. Tatyana Kuzovkova and Associate Professor of the Department of Digital Economy, Management and Business Technologies at MTUCI, Ph.D. Olga Sharavova.
