Bypass YouTube Slowdown on Android TV Without VPN
Hello everyone, today we will talk about Android TV. To me, bypassing the blocking on the TV seemed the most problematic and difficult. Since there are several TVs at home that are deprived of YouTube, and even more are waiting for configuration at friends and acquaintances – I decided to collect all the methods I found for bypassing the blocking.
Preparation:
We'll have to throw different APKs on the TV, so we'll install LocalSend on the TV and on the phone at once: 4pda, Google Play, app store
How to use:
To start using LocalSend on your phone and TV, you need to download the APK file to your mobile device. In LocalSend on your phone, select this file and the app will show you your TV ID. Then transfer the APK to your TV. Install the APK file directly from LocalSend on your TV. All methods require the app SmartTube.
In SmartTube, for convenience, click on the bug, the right icon in the player, to see the statistics of system administrators and the buffer filling.
1. PowerTunnel. The simplest, does not require root
Downloading PowerTunnel in the settings we change the connection mode from VPN to proxy. For convenience, we enable the “Autostart” checkbox. We go to SmartTube “settings – main – censorship” – we enter our local proxy from PowerTunnel, 127.0.0.1 port 8085, login and password are empty, HTTP mode. We press test, we see OK, we enable 4k video and we are happy.
2. DPITunnel. Requires root
The method is as convenient as the first one. But not all TV boxes can be rooted.
Download DPITunnellaunch, grant root rights, add autostart in the settings. In applications, select SmartTube so that others do not touch it, but it is not necessary. In SmartTube itself, you do not need to do anything.
3. ByeDPIAndroid. Doesn't require root, but doesn't work everywhere
It will take some fiddling, I've never seen anything that worked out of the box. And it works great on the phone without any settings, even Instagram (a terrorist organization banned in Russia) opens, which is usually unblocked by anything other than VPN. However, you need to bother with the TV.
Downloading ByeDPIgo to settings and change “Split position” to 1, check YouTube, if it doesn't work then 2, and so on. It works for me on 1, but it's noticeably worse than options 1 or 2, the buffer is sometimes full and sometimes empty. It's ok for 1080p. The option also works for a phone.
4. Computer as a proxy. GoodbyeDPI + 3proxy
We install it on PC GoodbyeDPI
Add the following lines to russia-blacklist.txt:
run 1_russia_blacklist_dnsredir.cmd. Or install GoodbyeDPI as a service via service_install_russia_blacklist_dnsredir. cmd so as not to run the batch file every time. Install a proxy. Choose any, I installed 3proxy
Unpack, go to bin64, enter the following into 3proxy.cfg:

It is more convenient to install 3proxy as a service: .\3proxy.exe --install

In SmartTube, we enter our values from the config as a proxy, add login and password. Convenient, because you don’t need to keep your PC on. Inconvenient, because VPS costs money, and cheap options usually have limited traffic. Your PC can also act as a VPS, if it has a white IP.
