Bright smart lamp SBER 1500 lm

SberDevices has released a smart light bulb that uses Russian software and has some pretty outstanding features.

I measured the parameters of this lamp and studied it.


SberDevices has developed its own cloud service and its own firmware for all its smart devices. Now light bulbs and other devices do not use foreign services and work faster, thanks to the placement of servers in Russia.

The new SBER SBDV-00120 lamp is interesting not only for its software, but also for its hardware implementation. It uses an improved driver that provides stable light brightness and no pulsation in a very wide voltage range.

Thanks to the use of a large housing with a diameter of 70 mm, the lamp has good cooling of the LEDs, which will significantly extend the service life.

The lamp is controlled from the Salute app, as well as using smart speakers, and operates in several modes:

— white light with the ability to smoothly adjust brightness and color temperature;
— colored light with smooth brightness control and the ability to select any of 16 million colors;
— adaptive mode (the color temperature of the light automatically changes during the day);
– phytolight (white light with the addition of red for better plant growth);
— New Year mode (the color smoothly changes in green-red-yellow range);
– candle (dimmed orange-red light);
– northern lights (smooth color change between green and blue);
– romance (smooth change of pink color);
– dawn (imitation of sunrise: the light slowly changes from dim dark red to warm white);
sunset (simulation of sunset: the light slowly changes from warm white to a dull dark red).

In the adaptive mode, the time zone of the lamp location and the time of sunrise and sunset for each day are determined. Taking this data into account, the lamp shines with warm light (2700K) in the morning and evening, during the day the color temperature gradually increases, reaching a maximum (about 5000K) in the middle of the day, then decreases just as smoothly.

Since warm light promotes relaxation and helps you fall asleep better, and cool light helps you concentrate on work, adaptive lighting helps you work better, rest better, and fall asleep easier.

Some of the voice commands that can be used to control the lamp are provided on the packaging.

The lamp can be controlled using scripts, some of which are also printed on the lamp box.

The lamp can be used as a light alarm clock; to do this, simply create a scenario in which the “Dawn” mode will be turned on when the morning comes.

Several lamps can be combined into groups, then all the lamps, for example, in one chandelier, can be controlled synchronously.

The manufacturer provides the following technical characteristics of the lamp:

— power 14 W;
— luminous flux 1500 lm;
— equivalent to the power of a 120 W incandescent lamp.

I measured the lamp parameters in my laboratory and got the following results:

The luminous flux turned out to be even higher than stated. The equivalent of an incandescent lamp is also higher, depending on the color temperature at maximum brightness, the lamp shines like a 135-145 W incandescent lamp.

When setting the minimum brightness, the luminous flux was 87 lm, which is about 5% of the maximum.

The lamp operates without any dimming or pulsating over a very wide range of mains voltage – the luminous flux only dropped by 5% when I dropped the voltage to 89 volts.

There is no light pulsation at all in all modes.

The measured color rendering index CRI(Ra) was 82-88.

I will mention one more parameter that is not in the table and which is not important for domestic use, but shows the level of performance of the driver: the power factor of this lamp is 0.95 (for most LED lamps it does not exceed 0.6).

This is what the lamp's light spectra look like in the warmest, neutral and coldest light modes.

And these are the spectra in color mode when setting “pure” colors – red, green and blue.

When working at maximum brightness, the lamp heats up to 76 degrees. For such a bright lamp, this is a good result (many bulbs heat up to 90 degrees or more).

SberDevices managed to create a truly unique bulb. It is quite possible that this is the brightest smart bulb on the market, because it gives more than 1600 lm in most modes (there are 1520 lm bulbs from other brands on sale, but it is not a fact that they really give so much). And certainly other brands do not have such a driver that operates at a voltage of 89 volts, ensures a complete absence of pulsation and has a PF of 0.95.
