Battery test Phase AA and AAA

The Russian brand Faza is more than ten years old. I have repeatedly tested various batteries of this brand, and today I will test batteries of the new series of increased capacity Faza Ultramax Alkaline, as well as standard batteries Faza Super Alkaline.

Faza batteries are sold in various packages, I tested batteries in blisters of 2 pieces (of course, there are also blisters of 4 batteries).

The shelf life of the Faza Ultramax Alkaline batteries is 7 years. The shelf life of the Faza Super Alkaline batteries is 5 years.

The Ultramax Alkaline AA and AAA phases I tested were manufactured in March 2023. The Super Alkaline AA phase was manufactured in June 2023, and the Super Alkaline AAA phase was manufactured in December 2023.

Using a chemical current source analyzer Yarostanmash ASK2.5.10.8. I tested two batteries in two modes:

— discharge with a current of 100 mA up to 0.9 V (the maximum energy that the battery can provide);
— discharge up to 0.9 V with a resistance equivalent of 3.9 Ohm for AA and 5.1 Ohm for AAA (emulation of battery operation with a powerful load, such as toys with motors, blood pressure monitors and other medical equipment).

The results were as follows.

In the rating of my BatteryTest project, the Faza Ultramax Alkaline AA batteries received 89 points and entered the TOP-20 most capacious alkaline batteries, Faza Ultramax Alkaline AAA received 83 points. In fact, this means that Faza Ultramax differs in capacity from the most expensive and capacious alkaline batteries by only 11% and 17%.

These batteries are ahead of many well-known batteries in capacity, including batteries of departed brands (Duracell, Energizer, Varta). You can compare them with others on the website BatteryTest.ru.

Phase Super Alkaline received a rating of 80 (AA) and 77 points (AAA), these are also full-fledged alkaline batteries that can be used for any type of load – both low consumption and high (devices with motors, moving toys).

In addition to these two models, the Faza brand has alkaline batteries of the “economy” category Faza Alkaline. I recently tested them and the results are on the website. These batteries are intended primarily for devices with medium and low consumption (clocks, scales, remote controls, measuring devices) and can serve as a good replacement for outdated saline batteries: at a price comparable to saline batteries, they will work much longer in many devices.
