Sometimes, Windows 10 cannot detect the second monitor due to hardware or driver problems. And if a similar situation occurs, then there are a number of steps to quickly fix the problem with connecting a second monitor.

Checking the hardware

If Windows 10 cannot find the second monitor, then first follow these steps:

  • Reboot your computer.
  • Make sure the correct input is selected.
  • Check the cable connection between the monitor and the video card.
  • Disconnect the cable at both ends, wait a few seconds, and then reconnect it.
  • Use a different cable as the problem may be with the connector pins or a damaged cable.
  • If your monitor and video card have multiple ports, try switching ports.
  • Connect the monitor to another computer to determine if the problem is not with the monitor.
  • Connect another working monitor that is known to be in good working order to test the performance of the video card.

Configure 2nd monitor in system parameters
