A dual-core console bought for 50 rubles (~$0.9). New Year’s issue

We start with native games. And of course, we immediately take all the heaviest, for example, GTA III.

At low graphics settings with a resolution set to 0, the game runs, but there are noticeable brakes. Thanks to the button remapping software, it is possible to bind hard buttons to actions in the game, which is quite convenient. Perhaps the version with more compressed textures will do better!

It is also important here that I took the latest version, since it is a little problematic to find the old one. One of the first versions was perfectly pulled by my tablet on the allwinner at one time!

The fan port of Critical Strike runs about 50-60 frames. You can play, though now there is already a full-fledged port on Android. But I did not put Xash3D on the device.

With great pleasure, you can replay the classics in the face of Quake/Quake II. On a hardware renderer, they go 50-60 frames, you just need to find a normal port. The game runs faster than Quake 1 on the PSP.

But there are no problems with emulators either. SMD and NES are doing great, everything is obvious here, there is no serious input lag or jelly management. For old games, the console is great, and an almost native screen resolution will be a separate plus (analog TVs had a resolution of 480p).

And if you try to jump even higher and play PS1 games, then the console will pleasantly surprise you: Quake 2 goes to 50 maximum frames out of 50. It is really comfortable and pleasant to play!

The functionality of the console is impressive, especially for its price. Such a good thing can please its owner for a long time with retro games and emulators, and even classic mobile games. AMlogic have worked on the consumption of their chip and now it does not drain the 1800mAh battery in a couple of hours, but it is quite enough for half a day of playing. In addition, this is a real testing ground for modding! Here the UART is displayed and signed, the hardware USB is divorced, there are a lot of modding options! Pick up a 3G modem and make an alarm out of it? No problem. Put in the car as a GU? Normally, only the case will have to be disposed of. Just have a device that you can throw into your backpack, and then get it during a boring queue or traffic jam and play Mario? Yes, that’s what it was made for!

There are just a lot of applications for such a nishtyak, and this is far from e-waste, as someone might think. Yes, they have children’s sores, like the same fig soldering of triggers, but all this is repaired literally with electrical tape and a kind word, the console is really open and amenable to mods, unlike the same PSP. And you can make a server out of it, and a card reader, whatever! I hope that after this article, someone will truly discover such budget consoles and go looking for them at flea markets to please themselves with such an inexpensive nishtyachka for the new year! After all, what can you buy for 50 rubles in our time? A bottle of beer? What about your opinion?

Happy 2023, always your monobogdan and TimeWeb Cloud 😉
