6. The scalable Check Point Maestro platform has become even more affordable. New Check Point Gateways

We previously wrote that with the advent of Check point maestro, the level of entry (in monetary terms) into scalable platforms has decreased significantly. There is no longer a need for chassis solutions. Take exactly as much as you need and add as needed without large upfront costs (as is the case with the chassis). How this is done can be seen here. For a long time, only a few bundles were available for order – 6500, 6800 and 23800. And so, this year, Check Point presented new and more powerful gateway models – Quantum. As a result, a new minimum bundle with one orchestrator (MHO140) and two gateways (6200 Plus) fell in price more than twice! This allows companies of almost any size to use scalable solutions without overpricing upfront costs. Let’s look at the new models in more detail.

Branches and small offices (not suitable for Maestro)

For small businesses and branches, new models were presented – 3600 (datasheet) and 3800 (datasheet) Although these models CANNOT be used to connect to the orchestra (10G links are needed), I still consider it important to talk about them. Compared with previous models (3100, 3200), productivity has more than doubled, while the price has not changed. The main characteristics of the new devices in the picture below:

Small and medium businesses

For small and medium-sized businesses, they immediately released 4 new models: 6200 (datasheet), 6400 (datasheet), 6600 (datasheet) and 6700 (datasheet) Key features in the picture below:

All models can be used to connect to the orchestra. For example, if you use the gateway 6200, you can increase the “power” of the cluster from 3.6 Gbps (2 nodes) to 93.6 Gbps (52 nodes) in Threat Prevention mode. For gateway 6600 it will be numbers 7.4 and 192.4 respectively. Serious numbers.

Big business

For large business, two new models appeared – 7000 (datasheet) and 16,200 (datasheet) Specifications for the 7000th model in the picture below:

You can increase the cluster power from nineteen Gbps (2 nodes) to 494 Gbps (52 nodes) in Threat Prevention mode.

Features for the 16200th model:

You can increase the cluster power from thirty Gbps (2 nodes) to 780 Gbps (52 nodes) in Threat Prevention mode.

Data Center Solutions

And the most powerful models in the family, models for data centers – 26,000 (datasheet) and 28000 (datasheet) Key features in the picture below:

For 26000 models, you can increase the cluster power from 48 Gbps (2 nodes) to 1248 Gbps (52 nodes) in Threat Prevention mode.
For a 28,000 model, you can increase the cluster power from 60 Gbps (2 nodes) to 1560 Gbps (52 nodes) in Threat Prevention mode. Those. 1.5 Tbps!

Instead of a conclusion

I am sure that many of the models from the 6000th line will be interesting. Based on them, you can immediately begin to build a scalable platform on the perimeter of the network. This will be more profitable than the classic cluster, both from a financial and from a technical point of view. We previously wrote about this. Therefore, if you are only planning on introducing a firewall or are considering upgrading, we highly recommend looking towards Check Point Maestro. With a high degree of probability, it may turn out that this will be the most optimal solution.
